Refuge is officially merging with
Central Peninsula Church in Foster City!
After months of prayer, conversations with outside counsel, and interviews with the pastors and elders of Central Peninsula Church (CPC), we believe this merge is the path God is leading us down to best position both churches to change lives & transform communities in the Bay Area & beyond. Refuge & CPC are not only aligned theologically, but our values (which build identity/culture), vision & mission are aligned as well!
What will the transition look like?
Sunday, November 30: Refuge will attend the 11:00 service at CPC followed by a brief tour of the campus with pastor Kevin Sneed, CPC's Lead Pastor. We will also take a moment to pray together over this merge and the exciting “New Thing” (Isaiah 43:18-19) that God is doing.

Sunday, January 4th: Merge Day! The merge will officially take place on January 4th, which is the first Sunday of the new year. At that point we will schedule a lunch with CPC leaders (probably a Sunday in January) to celebrate the merge, get to know each other, learn about the heart & vision of CPC (including a Q&A), and learn how each of us can get plugged in— infusing our hearts, minds, gifts & passions to help shape & empower the culture & ministries of our new church, and to learn how we can be shaped through the many discipleship opportunities offered.
December 1-31: Throughout the month of December, between this Sunday’s time with pastor Kevin and the official merge on January 4th, pastor Jeremy will be on sabbatical before joining the pastoral team at CPC on January 4th. There will be no Refuge services or Groups in December, but we will continue praying-for & caring-for one another, communicating on WhatsApp (instructions to join WhatsApp below), and worshipping together on Sunday mornings @ CPC (Hebrews 10:24-25). After 6 hard (but beautiful!) years of planting Refuge, we're praying that this is a sweet & restful holiday season for each of you, and that God uses the month of December to pour fresh life into your hearts, minds, bodies & souls!
